I became a tenant rights attorney because housing is not something people should lose through pressure, neglect, or illegal tactics.
When landlords try to force long-term, rent-controlled tenants out of their homes through harassment, buyout pressure, or wrongful eviction, the law provides meaningful protections. I built this firm to enforce those rights and to create leverage where tenants often don’t realize they have it.
Background
Before founding Wobbe Tenant Law, I began my career as a public defender, where I tried over twenty jury and bench trials and developed strong courtroom instincts under pressure.
I then spent a decade at Tobener Ravenscroft LLP, one of California’s leading tenant rights firms, where I focused exclusively on representing tenants in wrongful eviction, habitability, and harassment cases.
Over the past decade, I’ve represented hundreds of California tenants across the Bay Area and Los Angeles. My practice is focused solely on tenant-side work. I do not represent landlords.
How I Handle Cases
I approach every case with a focus on leverage, strategy, and outcome.
Most strong tenant cases are not just about what happened, but about how the facts, the law, and the defendant’s exposure come together to create pressure. That pressure is what drives meaningful settlements.
I prioritize cases with clear liability, real damages, and defendants who can pay. When those elements are present, the goal is to position the case for the strongest possible resolution, whether through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
Clients receive a direct and honest assessment of their situation, including risks, limitations, and realistic outcomes. Not every case is one I can take, but when I do, I’m fully committed to achieving the best result available under the circumstances.
